Marie-Louise Plum is a uk illustrator and contemporary folk artist.
Working freehand in pen and ink Marie-Louise creates creepy characters in mysterious lands full of mischief and playfulness. Nothing is ever quite as it seems in her world, where the skulls in disguise roam rolling mallow-hills of rhinoland, rain pours poisoned raspberries and ugly bugs in tooth and bone crowns shall always go to the ball.
2009 saw the incarnation of her contemporary spirit masks, with live art installations taking place in Edinburgh and London. A solo exhibition of art and illustration is scheduled to tour the UK from spring 2010.
Marie has worked on a varied range of illustration projects including a large scale wall piece for Forest Hall in Edinburgh, custom made Moleskine design for Modofly, editorial illustration for Free for Charity magazine and advertising for Ripping Yarns antiquarian bookshop.
